They stole his memories. They framed him for a crime soaked in royal blood.
And when he woke — forgotten in the dark beneath Braemyr — Unkanytis remembered only two things: his name… and the bitter taste of betrayal.
Now hunted across a fractured realm and burdened with a cursed crown he never sought, the last warrior of a fallen battleclan must outrun soldiers, warlords, and something far worse: the Xal'Thann — twisted creations of an ancient power rising again.
The only question is whether he can survive long enough to claim it.
— The Berserker's Crown
Chapter One
"…See to it that he remembers nothing," the sinister voice echoed through the haze — distorted, featureless.
The cell was a damp, claustrophobic pit, the stench of rot clinging like a second skin. The barbarian awoke slumped against the cold stone, his skull pounding with a dull, stubborn ache; memory wove only in splintered fragments, scattered and half-formed.
Forcing his eyes open felt like its own battle.
The chamber seemed to breathe in slow, patient contempt. He couldn't say why, but the walls felt aware of him… watching, waiting.
A faint drip… drip… drip… echoed somewhere beyond the darkness, each drop sharp as a clock's tick. The sound jabbed through the fog in his head, inching him toward awareness.
Consciousness returned in slow waves. Dim light wavered through a narrow window-slit, casting uncertain shapes across the wall. His body stirred beneath the ache — remembering its weight.
Its power.
Its pain.
He braced a hand against the floor and tried to rise, but his strength betrayed him. His arm trembled, buckled, and he collapsed back onto the stone with a hoarse grunt. For a beat he lay still, breath ragged, his body struggling to recognize itself — as though he had awakened wearing a stranger's bones.
Realms Beyond is a fantasy fiction universe dedicated to immersive, character-driven epic fantasy — stories shaped by ancient myth, political tension, and the brutal weight of consequence.
These worlds are not clean or kind. Power is earned, not granted. Legends are forged through sacrifice, not prophecy alone. Victories carry scars, and survival often comes at a cost.
Each series is built with long-form storytelling in mind: layered worldbuilding, slow-burn revelations, and characters forced to confront who they are when the world breaks around them.
